About Carlson Orchards

Nearly 85 years ago, Carlson Orchards was founded. When established by Walter and Eleanor Carlson, they planted fields of potatoes and apples as well as raised chickens and cows. While they were successful farmers, their apples rose to popularity.

Since then, the orchard has grown to producing 120 acres of produce, including apples, peaches, nectarines, and more.

Together, Walter and Eleanor raised three sons—Bruce, Frank, and Robert—the current caretakers of Carlson Orchards.

A visit to Carlson Orchards gives you lots of variety. For example, you can pick your own produce, shop at the farmer’s market, or visit the taproom. With this wide array of activities offered at the orchard, you can easily spend all day exploring with friends and family.

Apple picking

Family Fun in the Orchard

Endless hours of fun await you and your loved ones while walking through the orchard at Carlson Orchards. There’s nothing quite like picking your own apples for a homemade apple crisp or taking pictures of your kids running through the acres of orchards.

These are just some of the memories you’ll create when you pick your own produce at Carlson Orchards. Depending on the season, pick all the apples, raspberries, blueberries, or pumpkins you’d ever need.

Since the pick your own opportunity runs seasonally, make sure to check out their Facebook page to learn more about picking season!

Apple Cider

Adult Fun in the Carlson Orchards Taproom

Is there a better way to end the day than by sipping on some delicious, fresh apple cider? The only thing that makes it better is sipping on some hard apple cider.

In 2011, Carlson Orchards partnered with Steve and Dave Rowse to create apple ciders made with their apples. Now, you can visit and sip on some of the cider barn beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Some of the taproom offerings include:

  • Harvard Harvest
  • Honey Crisp
  • Sweet Cider
  • Pink Lemonade

Can’t decide between which hard cider you want to try first? Order a flight of our four ciders to give each a try!

The taproom offers more than cider, though. Bring your appetite and chow down on a pizza from their long lineup, which includes cheese, margherita, and pepperoni. In the mood for a snack? Their apple sauce cups are perfect for both kids and adults.  Make sure you save room for the cider donuts, though. These fresh donuts are a Carlson family secret recipe that has been perfected over the decades.
